WHAT WE OFFER OUR MAKERS
The Makkist is being built to give independent makers more ways to be discovered, connect with customers and become part of a wider creative community — online and in person.
+ Curated visibility
We champion makers whose work reflects skill, quality and a strong sense of story, presenting their work to an audience that values how and why things are made.
+ A thoughtfully curated marketplace
Our online marketplace is currently being developed, bringing together independent UK makers across craft, art and design in one carefully curated place.
+ Fair, transparent pricing
There’s no sign-up fee for 2026. When the marketplace launches, The Makkist will take a simple 12.5% commission on online sales, so you only pay when your work sells.
+ Markets & in-person opportunities
Alongside the online marketplace, we run curated makers markets, festivals and creative events, creating opportunities for makers to meet customers and share their work in person.
+ A growing maker community
We want The Makkist to be more than somewhere to sell. As we grow, we’ll continue developing opportunities for makers to connect, share knowledge and take part in workshops, talks and other creative events.
HOW THE APPLICATION PROCESS WORKS
We welcome new makers in small batches, helping us maintain a considered mix of disciplines and ensure every maker feels part of a carefully curated community.
Each application is reviewed individually, looking at the work itself, the story behind it and how it aligns with The Makkist's values. If we think your work is a good fit, we'll be in touch with the next steps.
We aim to review applications within 14 days.
